
I was hired as the videographer and cinematographer for acclaimed choreographer Mimmo Miccolis’s original dance piece performed at World Pride DC in the DuPont Underground, where I captured seven dancers in a technically challenging, low-light venue. The final video was shared by Mimmo, WorldPrideDC, and DuPont Underground, and showcased my ability to adapt creatively while delivering a high-quality visual piece.

We created this video using Hannah Montana’s “I’ll Always Remember You” as a farewell to our roles at JMU, following a popular trend among graduating seniors. I co-produced, directed, and edited it to thank CHBS, our fellow social media team, and the entire JMU community for an unforgettable experience.

In my post-production class, I edited a short match action film using stock dailies from EditStock, building the story from scratch using a line script. I handled all editing, sound design, music, and coloring, and loved the detailed process of shaping the narrative entirely in post.
As the head of my PSA group in a storytelling course, I helped lead the project from research and scripting through production, while also acting in the final piece. Our team rotated through all studio roles like directing, acting, and camera operation which gave everyone a collaborative, hands-on learning experience.

I edited a commercial using EditStock footage, building the final cut from raw takes and a line script to create a humorous, polished spot. I handled everything from shot selection and sound design to color grading with LUTs, delivering a script-accurate and visually cohesive commercial.

This video puts an educational twist on a popular TikTok trend to make learning more fun and relatable for college students. It was created for the College of Health and Behavioral Studies’ Instagram while still following JMU’s brand guidelines.

I created a short interview film featuring my rowing coach, Valerie Spiegelthal, serving as director, cinematographer, editor, and audio designer. This personal project allowed me to combine my passion for rowing with my love for storytelling, resulting in a heartfelt and polished piece using Adobe Premiere Pro.

I directed, co-produced, and co-filmed a video for the JMU Banking Team’s national research presentation, featuring interviews and b-roll with Pendleton County banking professionals. Our SMAD creative team handled everything from lighting and graphics to editing in Final Cut Pro, delivering a polished final product used in competition at the national level.

This video, inspired by Billy on the Street, featured me running around CHBS asking students to “name a woman” in honor of Women’s History Month. I co-produced, hosted, and edited the video, which celebrated women in the college in a fun, fast-paced, and engaging way.

This advice video featured CHBS students sharing words of encouragement to highlight the strong sense of community at JMU. I pitched, filmed, co-produced, and edited the piece to create an uplifting and authentic reminder that students are supported and connected through their college journey.
I produced, directed, filmed, and edited a retirement tribute video that compiled messages from students across graduating classes, celebrating a SMAD professor’s lasting impact. As the sole producer, I managed every step from scripting and outreach to editing and sound design. This was truly such a meaningful and rewarding project.

This video parodied “What Is This Feeling” from Wicked to dramatize the relatable dread students feel during finals week. I directed, co-produced, and edited the piece to bring a fun, theatrical twist to CHBS’s Instagram content while still encouraging students to study.
I created an editor profile video on Yorgos Mavropsaridis, analyzing his editing work on films by Yorgos Lanthimos through interviews, quotes, and curated film clips. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I crafted a detailed and visually engaging case study that explored what makes his editorial style so distinct and impactful.

We created a video using the “30 Minutes” TikTok trend to humorously highlight that it was the last fall semester for the graduating CHBS social media team. I co-produced, filmed, and edited the video to capture the Gen Z blend of anxiety and humor in a way that resonated with our audience and stayed true to the JMU brand.

This video featured CHBS students sharing their semester resolutions, encouraging both participants and viewers to set intentional goals for the new academic term. I pitched the idea, co-produced, filmed, and edited the video to inspire and connect with students in a meaningful, on-brand way.

This video was based on the TikTok "flip camera" trend, where the person making the request is revealed to be the one asking all along. We used the trend to create a fun, witty piece that stayed on-brand with CHBS and JMU while engaging our audience in a relatable and current way.
I produced, filmed, directed, and edited a retirement video for Professor Hodges that brought together messages and memories from students across graduating years. The video served as a heartfelt tribute and meaningful way to recognize his legacy within SMAD and at JMU.

I directed, edited, and sang in a funny video announcing the search for new staff to take over my videography and social media manager role. The video balanced humor with the school’s brand guidelines to create a memorable and engaging recruitment message.

I co-edited a seven-minute documentary about Hurricane Ike, weaving together interviews, archival footage, and news clips to tell a powerful story of community and personal resilience. Using Final Cut Pro, I helped shape a cohesive narrative that honored the emotional impact of the storm while spotlighting the lived experiences of two individuals.

For this video, I filmed the interviews, edited the clips, chose the background music, and put together the final cut. My coworker, Mina Hakimpour, helped produce and created the title card to complete the finished piece.

This skit was based on the popular "Of Course" TikTok trend and was created to bring humor and relatability to the @jmuchbs Instagram page. My coworker and I wrote, directed, and filmed it together, and after I edited the final cut, it became the best-performing reel on the account.
