Embassy of Italy BTS Video

Project Overview:
I was hired as the videographer for acclaimed Italian choreographer Mimmo Miccolis to film an original dance piece performed at the Italian Embassy. In addition to capturing the choreography, I also filmed behind-the-scenes footage, helping to tell a full visual story of the creative process and performance.

Objectives and Strategy:
The goal was to create an elegant and visually compelling video that reflected the artistry of the choreography, the dancers, and the atmosphere of the venue. I focused on clean, cinematic visuals and intentional framing to elevate the final product while preserving the integrity of the live performance and rehearsal experience.

Production Details:

  • My Role: Videographer and behind-the-scenes cinematographer

  • Camera Used: Canon EOS R6

  • Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Location: Italian Embassy, Washington, D.C.

Outcome:
The final video was shared across multiple platforms—including Mimmo Miccolis’s Instagram and Vimeo, dancer Maki Onuki’s Instagram, and pianist JP Wogaman’s Instagram—garnering thousands of views and wide praise for its tasteful, high-quality storytelling. The project successfully captured the collaborative artistry of dance, music, and space and it was an honor to film at the Embassy of Italy.
