As the head of my PSA group in a storytelling course, I helped lead the project from research and scripting through production, while also acting in the final piece. Our team rotated through all studio roles like directing, acting, and camera operation which gave everyone a collaborative, hands-on learning experience.
In my post-production class, I edited a short match action film using stock dailies from EditStock, building the story from scratch using a line script. I handled all editing, sound design, music, and coloring, and loved the detailed process of shaping the narrative entirely in post.
I created a short interview film featuring my rowing coach, Valerie Spiegelthal, serving as director, cinematographer, editor, and audio designer. This personal project allowed me to combine my passion for rowing with my love for storytelling, resulting in a heartfelt and polished piece using Adobe Premiere Pro.
I produced, directed, filmed, and edited a retirement tribute video that compiled messages from students across graduating classes, celebrating a SMAD professor’s lasting impact. As the sole producer, I managed every step from scripting and outreach to editing and sound design. This was truly such a meaningful and rewarding project.
I edited a commercial using EditStock footage, building the final cut from raw takes and a line script to create a humorous, polished spot. I handled everything from shot selection and sound design to color grading with LUTs, delivering a script-accurate and visually cohesive commercial.
I directed, co-produced, and co-filmed a video for the JMU Banking Team’s national research presentation, featuring interviews and b-roll with Pendleton County banking professionals. Our SMAD creative team handled everything from lighting and graphics to editing in Final Cut Pro, delivering a polished final product used in competition at the national level.
I co-edited a seven-minute documentary about Hurricane Ike, weaving together interviews, archival footage, and news clips to tell a powerful story of community and personal resilience. Using Final Cut Pro, I helped shape a cohesive narrative that honored the emotional impact of the storm while spotlighting the lived experiences of two individuals.
I created an editor profile video on Yorgos Mavropsaridis, analyzing his editing work on films by Yorgos Lanthimos through interviews, quotes, and curated film clips. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I crafted a detailed and visually engaging case study that explored what makes his editorial style so distinct and impactful.
I produced, filmed, directed, and edited a retirement video for Professor Hodges that brought together messages and memories from students across graduating years. The video served as a heartfelt tribute and meaningful way to recognize his legacy within SMAD and at JMU.
