Editor Profile
Project Overview:
For this project, I created an editor profile video focused on Yorgos Mavropsaridis, best known for his long-time collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos. I researched his editing style in depth and compiled interviews, film clips, and quotes to produce a case study that highlights what sets him apart as a unique and influential voice in modern film editing.
Objectives and Strategy:
The goal was to showcase Mavropsaridis' signature editing techniques and explore how his work enhances the unsettling tone of Lanthimos’ films. I approached the project as both an analytical deep-dive and a visual essay, carefully curating film moments and pairing them with behind-the-scenes commentary to help viewers understand his editorial choices.
Production Details:
My Role: Researcher, video editor, and storyteller
Tools Used: Adobe Premiere Pro
Content Sources: Interviews, official film clips (fair use for educational purposes), quotes, and articles
Project Type: Video Essay (University Post-Production Class Project)
Outcome:
The final piece offered a thoughtful look into Mavropsaridis’s collaborative process and editorial style, serving as both an educational tool and a creative tribute. It sharpened my skills in research-based editing and taught me how to balance visual analysis with clear, engaging storytelling.
