Ike Documentary Editing
Project Overview:
I co-edited a short documentary about Hurricane Ike, focusing on how the storm impacted a local community and the personal stories of two individuals who lived through it. Created using Final Cut Pro, this seven-minute piece was designed to craft a cohesive and emotionally resonant narrative using real interview footage, archival materials, and news clips.
Objectives and Strategy:
The goal of this project was to go beyond just reporting the devastation of a natural disaster and to tell a human story rooted in resilience, loss, and community strength. My role involved sorting through hours of raw footage and historical material to find emotional beats, shape the pacing, and construct a narrative arc that would engage viewers while honoring the real experiences of those affected.
