PC Bank Short Documentary
Project Overview:
I directed, co-produced, and co-filmed an interview-based video project featuring leaders from Pendleton County banking companies in West Virginia and Virginia. This was part of a semester-long collaboration between the JMU Banking Team and a small creative team of SMAD students, with the final video serving as a key component of the team’s national-level competition presentation.
Objectives and Strategy:
The goal was to visually enhance the JMU Banking Team’s research by producing a professional, documentary-style video that showcased the perspectives of local banking professionals. Our team conducted on-location interviews, shot b-roll, created motion graphics, and carefully crafted the visual and audio storytelling to match the formality and clarity required for a national competition setting.
Production Details:
My Role: Director, co-producer, and co-videographer
Tools: Canon C70, Final Cut Pro
Collaborators: Two fellow SMAD students & JMU Banking Team
Client: JMU Banking Team (project submitted for national-level competition)
Outcome:
The final video elevated the research presentation with a polished, cohesive visual narrative that aligned with the professionalism of the team’s work. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, work directly with real-world clients, and contribute meaningfully to a competitive academic project.
