W.A.I.T PSA

Project Overview:
During my time in the Foundations of Audio-Visual Storytelling course, I served as the head of a student group tasked with creating a public service announcement (PSA) from the ground up. Our team was responsible for conducting research, developing the concept, writing the script, and overseeing the full production process—all within the structure of a collaborative, hands-on learning environment.

Objectives and Strategy:
The goal of this project was to create an engaging and informative PSA while gaining firsthand experience with the fundamentals of studio production. My group approached the assignment with a strong emphasis on collaboration and creative ownership. While I appeared on camera in the final video, every group member rotated through key roles—including directing, acting, and operating studio equipment—to gain a comprehensive understanding of audiovisual storytelling and live studio workflow.

Production Details:

  • My Role: Group lead, actor, co-writer and co-producer

  • Tools: Studio cameras, Ross Switchboard, Teleprompter

  • Course: Foundations of Audio-Visual Storytelling

Outcome:
This project helped sharpen my leadership skills while reinforcing the importance of teamwork in production environments. It was a valuable experience that introduced me to every stage of studio production and gave each team member the chance to grow creatively and technically.
