Dupont Underground BTS Video

Project Overview:
I was hired as the videographer and cinematographer for one of Mimmo Miccolis’s original dance works, performed by seven dancers as part of World Pride DC at the DuPont Underground—a major honor and highlight of my videography experience. My role involved capturing the full performance with artistic precision while also navigating the creative and technical challenges of filming in a low-light, unconventional venue.

Objectives and Strategy:

The goal was to create a visually striking film that honored both the choreography and the significance of the event. With the dark, industrial aesthetic of the DuPont Underground, I adapted my shooting approach in real time—making deliberate use of lighting, movement, and composition to ensure each dancer was captured clearly and powerfully within the space.

Production Details:

  • My Role: Videographer and cinematographer

  • Camera Used: Canon EOS R6

  • Location: DuPont Underground, Washington, D.C.

  • Event: World Pride DC

  • Featured Platforms: Mimmo Miccolis’s Instagram & Vimeo, WorldPrideDC’s Instagram, DuPont Underground’s Instagram

Outcome:
The final video was widely shared across major platforms like Mimmo Miccolis’s and WorldPrideDC’s social media where it received strong praise for its dynamic cinematography and artistic execution. It was a proud moment to contribute to an international celebration of identity and artistry, overcoming lighting and space challenges to deliver a polished, high-impact visual story.
